Fire it up

With highs in the 20's, it was a very chilly weekend at camp.

The dining hall isn't heated, it relies only on this fireplace to make it warm.

And it has a giant Elk (?) head hanging over it.  

Yuck.

But have no fear, my darling hubby was in charge of making the fire.

While the fireplace design is flawed and doesn't actually heat the dining hall, it was very toasty warm next to it.  As you can see we used it to dry gloves as well as hats, coats and boots for the tiny popsicles that played out in the snow all day.
